West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today conveyed their heartiest greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Deepavali, the Festival of Lights.
"May this festive occasion illuminate our mind and bring joy, happiness and prosperity to the people of the state," the Governor said in a message from the Raj Bhavan.
"I once again convey my best wishes to the people of West Bengal and their well being," he added.

Stating that the festivals display colours of humanity, culture and civilization, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a message earlier urged all to maintain communal harmony especially during the festive days of Deepavali and Kali Puja.
Expressing her greetings to people, the Chief Minister reminded that Deepavali is the festival of lights that belong to culture.
"Festivals cannot belong to a single religious community, nor does it have any colour of difference. A festival belongs to all. It unites everyone," she had said.
