WB govt accepts Raj Kanojia's VR plea

The Government has accepted the plea for voluntary retirement by Raj Kanojia, the of Police and Commandant General, Home Guards, with effect from September 30 next, according to a notification.

Kanojia, who is also the of Police, Coastal Security, and an 1982 batch IPS officer, had prayed for voluntary retirement from the Indian Police Service.

Since Kanojia has completed more than 30 years of service and has attained 50 years of age he is eligible for seeking voluntary retirement under Rule 16(2) of AIS (DCRB) Rules, 1958 and the is competent to accept his prayer, the notification said.

"In exercise of the power conferred by Sub-Rule 2 of Rule 16 of the All Service (DCRB) Rules, 1958, the is pleased to allow to take voluntary retirement form with effect from September 30, 2018," it added.
