Alleging West Bengal ranked first in the country in crimes and attacks against women, senior CPI(M) leader Surya Kanto Mishra today said "the Chief Minister has miserably failed on all scores".
"The state has got the dubious distinction of topping the list among other states in attacks on women but the CM makes tall claims about good governance everywhere," the opposition leader told an election meeting in the town.
"The chief minister had promised all round development, but everybody can see what kind of progress Bengal has made in all these years. It is no development," the former state minister said.
