Wheat extend gains, up by Rs 10 on increased offtake

Continuing its rising streak for the fourth straight day, wheat prices gained another Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to increased offtake by flour mills against restricted supplies.

Traders said besides increased offtake by flour mills, tight stocks position on decline arrivals from producing belts mainly attributed rise in wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,775-1,780 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,780-1,785 per 90 kg.

Sooji also moved up by Rs 15 to Rs 1,050-1,065 per 50 kg.
