Police have arrested two persons, including a woman, for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and seized 75 kgs of 'ganja' worth Rs 6 lakh.

The accused - Kanan Sarkar (34) and Rajeev Majumdar (27) - were arrested on May 24 from New Delhi Railway station, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Madhur Verma.

The Crime Branch received information about Sarkar procuring ganja from West Bengal and supplying it in Delhi.

It was found that she, along with her associate, would be arriving at New Delhi railway station from Dibrugarh Rajdhani and would be going to Tughlaqabad on May 24, carrying ganja with them.

A team was constituted and the two accused were arrested. During search of Sarkar and Majumdar, five briefcases and bags containing parcels wrapped in cello tape were recovered.

The parcels were found containing ganja. Efforts are on to find the supplier from West Bengal.
