Woman commits suicide over dowry demands in Haryana

A 21-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her house in Guraora village allegedly after being tortured by her husband and in-laws for dowry, police said today.

Aarti Yadav, who got married to Ajit three years ago, was being tortured by her husband and in-laws demanding dowry because of which she yesterday took the extreme step, police said quoting a complaint registered in this regard by woman's family members.

Police said the matter was being probed.
