A woman, who was allegedly abducted and assaulted, consumed poison in a local court during the hearing in her case alleging that police was shielding the two accused, police said today.
The victim consumed aldrin in front of the ACJM Court in Sikar district yesterday during the hearing of her case for alleged abduction and assault here in March this year, Kotwali SHO Dharamveer said.
She was rushed in a critical condition to the Sri Kalayan Government hospital yesterday after taking her statement.

District hospital doctors today referred her to Jaipur's SMS hospital for a better treatment, but she refused to go there, the SHO said.
She reportedly told the court that she did want to live as the police was trying to cover up the case, the SHO said.
Two accused -- Mohsin and Sajid -- were arrested in the case and released later on bail by the court, he said.
