Woman, daughter die of burns; husband held for 'murder'

A 26 year-old woman and her nine month-old daughter died under mysterious circumstances in Jaunpur village in Uttar Pradesh, even as her relatives made allegations of murder against her husband and mother-in-law.

Mansa and her daughter died of burns in Bammavan village under Kerakat police station area last night when they were alone in the house, IG Law & Order, Amrendra Sengar said.

Relatives of the woman including her parents, terming the death as murder, have lodged a case against her husband Pawan and mother-in-law Santosh, Sengar said.

While the husband has been arrested, efforts were on to nab Santosh, Sengar said.
