A woman was killed after she was hit by a fire tender, which was working to douse flames in the Burrabazar area of the city Tuesday, police said.
The unidentified woman was sitting on pavement when she was hit by the fire tender as the driver was negotiating the narrow lane at the congested area to put off the flames in a shop which broke out at 9 am, police said
While the fire was put off in an hour's time by two fire tenders, the middle-aged woman was declared dead after being taken to a nearby hospital, police said.
