Woman falls from launch, 4 otr KKR supporters rescued

A woman went missing while four others were rescued after falling from an overcrowded launch, packed with IPL match spectators from Eden Gardens, on river Hooghly near Babughat here tonight.

Police said five persons fell from the vessel packed with Kolkata Knight Rider supporters on way back from Eden Gardens to Howrah station across the river, after the game was over.

While four of them could be rescued by boatmen and those present, the woman was drawn by the tides and could not be spotted later on.

Search operation was on for the missing lady whose identity could not be ascertained till late tonight.
 

Earlier Chennai Super Kings stamped a four-wicket win over KKR in the match at Eden Gardens.
