Woman's body found in manhole in Faridabad

An unidentified body of a woman was found dumped inside a manhole in Sector-55 here, police said today.

Harbir, a resident of Gauchi village, registered a complaint with police that some of the local children had found the body of the woman dumped inside the manhole yesterday, a police spokesperson said.

The children from coming from a sports event when they sighted the body and later informed police, the spokesperson said.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination and the report is awaited.

Police officials said prima facie it appeared that the woman was murdered and her body disposed of.
 

A case of murder under relevant sections of IPC has been registered and investigation is underway, added the official.
