Yesterday's massive earthquake took the life of a 35-year-old village woman in Tripura's Unakoti district.

Krishna Saha, a resident of Betcherra village, about 15 km from here, was lifting water from a well for taking bath when she felt the ground shaking and fell to the ground after suffering a cardiac arrest, official sources said today.

The villagers took her to a health centre from where she was referred to the Kulai Hospital where she was declared "brought dead" yesterday, officer-in-charge of Kumarghat police station Nayanmani Namasudra said.

The deceased is survived by three children.
