Woman suffers minor injury as concrete slab of bridge falls

A woman suffered minor injuries after a concrete slab of a bridge in the city's Kalighat area came down on Tuesday, days after the Majerhat bridge collapse incident, which killed three people, police said.

A portion of the Chetla bridge collapsed this afternoon, injuring the woman sitting beneath an underpass, a senior officer Chetla police station said

No complaint has so far been lodged in this connection, he said.

Three persons were killed and 24 people injured as a portion of the Majerhat bridge collapsed last Tuesday.

Majerhat was the third bridge collapse in the city since 2013.
