Women marathoners get injured as bridge collapse

A few women participants of a marathon, titled 'Pinkathon', today sustained minor injuries when a makeshift wooden bridge they were standing on, inside the Island grounds here, collapsed, police said.

However, none sustained any major injuries, a senior police official said.

The incident did not affect 'Pinkathon' and it went off "well", a participant said.

The oragnisers of the event could not be reached for comment.

Lieutenant General Jagbir Singh, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area, flagged off the event.
