Writer John Ridley working on new Marvel TV show

Academy Award-winning "12 Years a Slave" screenwriter John Ridley is working with Marvel Studios on a new television project.

The secret project is currently under development at ABC, the home of Ridley's current drama programme "American Crime".

Ridley's new project is based around re-inventing an existing Marvel Comics property for the network, reported Entertainment Weekly.

News of this potential series comes amidst reports that ABC is mulling over a potential spinoff of Marvel's "Agents of SHIELD" to debut next season.
