Eminent playback singer K J Yesudas celebrated his 76th birthday with a 'darshan' of Goddess Mookambika and by performing 'Chandika Homa' at Kollur inUdupi district.
Yesudas reached the temple with his wife yesterday and offered prayers. He visits the shrine each year on his birthday.
Thousands of his followers hadgathered at the temple on the occasion.
Thepooja rituals were held under the guidance of senior priest NGovind Adiga and the temple Tantry Ramachandra Adiga.
Yesudas was felicitated by templeExecutive Officer T R Uma and assistant executive officerKrishnamurty, a release here said today.
