A young couple allegedly committed suicide today by hanging themselves in different rooms of NTPC complex here, police said.
Vivek Mishra, 28, and 27-year-old Amandeep, who were engineers and under training at NTPC, hung themselves in their rooms, Jarcha Police Station SHO Surindera Rana said.
Amandeep, who hailed from Punjab, took her life first, and when Vivek came to know, he also took the extreme step in his room, Rana said.
"A suicide note has been recovered from Vivek's room in which he has stated that he was committing suicide as he was upset with life," the SHO said.
Police has sent the bodies for postmortem examination and informed parents of the deceased.
