Youth arrested for rape, murder of teenage girl

A 22-year-old youth has been arrested for his alleged role in the gang-rape and murder of a teenage girl four days ago in Harduganj area, police said today.

Manoj Chhatra had an old enmity with the victim's family and was convicted two years ago for harassing the elder sister of the victim.

Chhatra was arrested last evening, Superintendent of Police Sansar Singh told newspersons.

He said that since past several weeks, he had been stalking the 16-year-old girl, who had repeatedly spurned his overtures.
