A 20-year-old man died and his friend was injured after a car-driven by a woman CA student, who was allegedly drunk, rammed into their scooter here, police said today.
The incident occurred close to midnight yesterday when Ramayanam Chiranjeevi, working with a food delivery firm and his friend, were on their way for a delivery, they said.
"The woman, a CA student, drove her car in a rash and negligent manner in drunken condition and hit the scooter resulting in Chiranjeevi and his friend Saikumar falling down on the road and both received severe bleeding injuries," a police official said.
They were admitted to a private hospital where Chiranjeevi succumbed to injuries, police said.
A case had been registered and the 26-year old woman who was allegedly under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident, police said.
The woman, who suffered minor injuries, had been taken into custody, police said adding further investigation was on.
