Zinc prices drifted by 0.39% to Rs 129.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions following easing of demand in the spot markets.
Also, weak trend in select base metals in global markets influenced the sentiment.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery this month shed 50 paise, or 0.39%, to Rs 129.30 per kg in a business turnover of nine lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in January edged lower by 40 paise, or 0.31%, to Rs 128.80 per kg in 259 lots.
Traders attributed the fall in zinc futures to sluggish demand in the spot markets and weak trend in base metals overseas.
Also, weak trend in select base metals in global markets influenced the sentiment.
