Zinc futures down 0.49 pc on sluggish demand

Zinc prices dropped 0.49 per cent to Rs 201.40 per kg in futures trading today on weak demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October month fell by Re 1, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 201.40 per kg in business turnover of 9 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in September traded lower by 95 paise or 0.47 per cent to Rs 200.65 per kg in 913 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by participants due to subdued demand from consuming industries mainly weighed on zinc prices.
