Prices of zinc and nickel traded higher by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today on the back of firming global trend.
Traders said sentiment bolstered after zinc rose in global markets as stockpiles fell amidst a jump in US home building increased speculation that demand is rising in the second-biggest user of industrial metals.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months rose 0.4 per cent to USD 2,312 a metric tonne at the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, zinc and nickel(4x4) rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 112-118 and Rs 1,094-1,100 per kg, respectively.
