The spokesman said US missiles hit civilian areas in the outskirts of our steadfast cities as well as military sites but did not name the struck area.
He said the attack would increase the determination of the mujahideen (holy fighters) to snatch their rights.
He said the result of the attack would disappoint the US and those siding with it in its aggression against Iraq.
Saddam urged his armed forces to resist US strikes and hit back at US, British and French warplanes policing no-fly zones in his country.
