Apr-Jan 98 Oil Output At 28.29 M Tonne

India produced 28.29 million tonne of crude oil between April 1997 and January 1998 compared with 27.30 million tonne in the same period a year earlier, a petroleum ministry statement said on Thursday. Crude oil production during January 1998 was 2.87 million tonne. This was 2.9 per cent higher than the production of 2.79 million tonne achieved during January 1997, it said. Cumulative refinery output, in terms of crude throughput, was 54.15 million tonne between April, 1997, and January, 1998, as against 52.32 million in the same period a year ago. In January, refineries processed 5.57 million tonne of crude compared with 5.40 million in the same month of 1997, it said.
