Brief Flurry In Itc Scrip

Apart from hectic trading in SBI and a temporary flurry in the ITC scrip, the Delhi Stock Exchange remained dull in the absence of buying support from FIs and FIIs.

The DSE Index recovered 2.62 points to close at 739.12. Marketmen said short-covering in the ITC scrip led to a temporary surge in the share price. Reliance saw moderate gains. The scrip opened at Rs 196, touched a high of Rs 197.50 and closed at Rs 197.10.

SBI too, recovered modestly after opening at Rs 262.50. It touched a high of Rs 265.10, before closing at Rs 263.05.

The ITC scrip attracted a lot of attention. It opened at Rs 294, saw a high of Rs 300 and ended at Rs 298, gaining Rs 4. ACC gained Rs 16. The scrip opened at Rs 1,860, touched a high of Rs 1,889 and a low of Rs 1,858. It ended at Rs 1876.
