Ed Interrogates Ashok Jain

The enforcement directorate yesterday interrogated media baron Ashok Jain at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in connection with alleged Fera violations.
ED sources said that Jain was questioned for about an hour at the institute. Jain, who was admitted to Apollo Hospital with a heart ailment, was shifted to AIIMS for interrogation.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court yesterday deferred hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of Jain, chairman of Bennett Coleman and Company. Justice Anil Sev Singh, while extending the stay on Jain's arrest till today, asked ED to clarify to the court whether his arrest was required or it would be appropriate to interrogate him in a hospital.

However, counsel for the ed, mr sarabjit sharma, said the applicant has a habit of getting admitted to a hospital whenever the directorate served summons to him.
Mr sharma said the investigations were at a crucial stage and any court order giving him immunity from arrest would hamper the investigation.
