Work On First Phase Of Tech Park To Be Over Soon

The much-touted International Tech Park (ITP) based in Whitefield near Bangalore is nearing completion of its first phase of operations. The Rs 1,470 crore project, promoted by a consortium of Singapore industries, the Tata group and the Karnataka state government, will soon be able to give immediate and constant connectivity access to its clients through high speed data transfer cables.

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd has established connectivity with the International Tech Park using the department of telecommunications optical fibre cable. This will enable commissioning of international data circuits of about 64 kbps and above.

The commissioning of the international data circuits will enable us to provide our clients with Internet connectivity, high speed data transfer, E-mail and video conferencing, International Tech Parkchief executive officer Kang Kok Hin. With VSNL providing round the clock services, our clients will also be able to access the services constantly.

 

Clients will be provided connectivity of the required bandwidth using the VSNL hub.

Two radio links between the International Tech Park and VSNL have also been installed to enhance the reliability of the local loop.

Water and sewage facilities too have been commissioned. The water and sewage lines are likely to cost about Rs 6 crore.

ITP has agreed in principle to share the costs with the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board on a prorate basis for a dedicated pump house with upgraded facilities to ensure continuous supply of water. ITP is being developed as the countrys first high tech integrated and self contained complex for companies in IT and related industries.
