It was a morale-boosting victory for India as skipper Rohit Sharma got among the runs, Axar Patel bowled well and Dinesh Karthik took just two balls to finish the chase of nine runs in the last over. 

 

India, who were chasing down 91 in a rain-marred eight-over a side game, got off to a good start as they reached 40-1 in the first three overs. However, Adam Zampa brought Australia back with his double-wicket over in the fifth where he dismissed Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav on consecutive balls. 

 

Skipper Rohit Sharma though kept the fight on as he remained not out on 46 off just 20 balls to see his team home. 

 

Earlier in the evening, after being asked to bat first, Australia reached 905 in their eight overs thanks to a brilliant 43* off just 20 balls by Matthew Wade.
