Infosys inks deal with IIM-B

Infosys Technologies and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) today announced a partnership to offer IIM-B's post graduate programme in software enterprise management (PGSM) in Chennai from the next academic year.

According to a release issued by Infosys to the BSE today, the programme will be open to software professionals from all companies in Chennai, and will be hosted at the Infosys campus in Mahindra City.

"The selection for the first batch of about 45 students will be through a special admission test to be conducted in Chennai on March 20, 2005. Candidates for the next batches will be selected on the basis of their CAT or GMAT scores," the release said.

Kris Gopalakrishnan, COO and deputy managing director of Infosys Technologies, said: "Infosys is committed to investing in partnerships with the academia to increase India's competitiveness in the knowledge economy. The program aims at creating a strong foundation for the rapidly growing IT Industry by providing the most current executive management education to middle and senior professionals of the information technology industry. Partnerships such as this will play a vital role in increasing the depth of knowledge and business perspective that today's IT professionals must possess."

The classes in Chennai will be conducted in synchronous mode using two-way video and audio along with auxiliary technologies supporting interaction between faculty members and students in Chennai and Bangalore.

"Faculty will also travel to Chennai every few weeks to conduct live classes, and facilitate out-of-class interactions," the release said.
