MTNL FY07 net up 11% at Rs 643cr

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) has posted an 11% rise in net profit at Rs 643.12 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 (FY07) when compared with Rs 580.29 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 (FY06).

According to an official release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income has decreased to Rs 5530.69 crore for FY07 from Rs 6091 crore for FY06.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2007, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 206.33 crore whereas it was Rs 140.27 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Total income has decreased to Rs 1386.07 crore from Rs 1594.52 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, the release said.
