nLeague, a Hyderabad-based IT products and services company, has launched the public beta phase of its web-based social networking application Zahdoo.com. The site is aimed at helping individuals and families manage their day-to-day juggle of activities, information and relationships.
“Zahdoo serves as a complete resource planning and extended communication tool for families. We expect more than 100,000 users in a year’s time and plan to commercially launch the website next year,” Satyavardhan Kommareddy, head of product marketing for Zahdoo, said in a press release on Tuesday.
Kommareddy said the company had funded Zahdoo through internal accruals and was in talks with a couple of venture capital firms in India and the US including family.com, a venture fund floated by Disney, to raise further funds. “Plans are also on the cards to scale up our employee strength to 300 from the present 150 by the end of this year,” he said.
Zahdoo’s semantic search provides users information by linking the user’s context with the external content. Its algorithm analyses user queries and understands semantics of the keywords to push the most appropriate results that matches each user’s interest, he added.
nLeague is also planning to come out with an enterprise version of Zahdoo. The new version, which can be used by enterprises for organising their day-to-day activities, will be developed soon.
“This apart, we are developing SoAXchange.com, a business-to-business (B2B) portal for exchanging software-oriented architecture (SOA) components and services promoting reuse and knowledge-sharing across enterprises,” he said.
