Technology and business process company Zensar Technologies has set up its sixth Global Delivery Centre (GDC) in Shanghai, China. This centre will provide infrastructure management, application support and product engineering services in chosen verticals like manufacturing, health care and government. The Shanghai center will also focus on providing local service to customers in the region and is expected to create more business opportunities for Zensar locally.

This new facility is designed to serve the needs of its global clients and plans to have the first team of 30 associates working on the projects from November 2010.

Commenting on this, Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Vice Chairman and MD, Zensar said, "The centre in Shanghai will not only develop solutions for global and local customers but will also serve as a center of excellence for university students and graduates to participate in and learn from the complex projects we undertake in applications development and support and remote infrastructure management".

Speaking about the choice of Shanghai as the location for the new GDC, Krishna Ramaswami, VP and Head-Strategic Services Unit, Zensar said, "The decision to open a centre in Shanghai was prompted by the fact that not only does Shanghai provide very competitive conditions, but also represents a huge and strategic market for our clients worldwide. With this centre in Shanghai we are now ready to support them with their expansion plans in China."

The Shanghai GDC is Zensar's sixth development centre, after two centers in Pune, Hyderabad, Gdansk (Poland) and London (UK).
