Prime Minister David Cameron has told EU leaders they should consider reforming rules on freedom of movement, a Downing Street source said, after Britain voted to leave the bloc.
	Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said Cameron told a leaders' dinner in Brussels yesterday that Britain and the EU should "have as close an economic relationship as possible and that the key to staying close is really to look at reform to free movement".
	A British government source speaking anonymously added that Cameron believed free movement was "one of the driving factors in people voting to leave".
	"Therefore if you're seeking to maintain a close economic relationship, you can't shy away from this issue," the source said.
	Cameron was speaking at his last ever European summit and reflecting on some of the reasons why Britons delivered a shock vote in favour of leaving the European Union last week.

Michael Phelps took another step toward a last Olympic hurrah as 2012 gold medalists Missy Franklin and Matt Grevers failed to qualify at the US Olympic swimming trials for the Rio Games.
     Seeking to add to his tally of 18 golds, Phelps topped the 200m butterfly semi-final times, winning his semi in 1min 55.17sec.
     Pace Clark was second-fastest, winning the other semi-final in 1:56.27.

Australian Olympic hurdles champion Sally Pearson has torn a hamstring during training, reports said today, casting doubt over whether she will compete at Rio.
     Pearson, Australia's top athlete who won 100 metres hurdles gold at London in 2012, picked up the injury while training on the country's Gold Coast, News Corporation newspapers said.
     The reports said she would miss Rio but the Australian Olympic Committee would not confirm this and Athletics Australia (AA) tweeted only that Pearson "will be made available to the media" on Thursday.
     An AA spokesman said there would be no further comment ahead of her press conference.

Online bulletin board Pinterest has unveiled new features to facilitate shopping on the site, as the platform pushes to become an e-commerce hub.
	The new offerings announced at the company's San Francisco headquarters yesterday include a virtual shopping bag that users can fill as they cruise bulletin boards.
	"When you're ready to check out, everything you've added to your bag will be right there waiting for you," Pinterest product manager Tim Weingarten said in a blog post.
	Pinterest last year dove into e-commerce with "pins" in mobile applications that let people buy items they see on bulletin boards.
	The new virtual shopping bag feature is currently available on Android devices and for users visiting Pinterest on their computers.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called for stepped-up cooperation in the fight against terrorism, following an attack on Istanbul's Ataturk airport that left at least 36 dead and scores wounded.
	Ban "condemns today's terrorist attack" and "expresses his deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Turkey," his spokesman said in a statement.
	The UN chief "stands firmly by Turkey as it confronts this threat and stresses the need to intensify regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism."
	"The Secretary-General hopes that the perpetrators of this crime will be identified and brought to justice," the statement said.

A triple suicide bombing and gun attack at Istanbul's Ataturk airport killed at least 32 people and left scores wounded, in the latest deadly strike to rock Turkey's biggest city.
	The attackers began spraying bullets at airport guards at the terminal entrance and a shootout erupted before they blew themselves up one by one at around 10:00 pm (local time) yesterday, Turkish authorities said.
	The private Dogan news agency said the attackers had killed at least 32 people -- including two police officers -- and wounded 88 others.
	President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for an international "joint fight" against terror after the attack, the fourth deadly bombing in Istanbul this year alone.

Twenty-four Syrian civil society groups enlisted by the United Nations to support peace talks threatened to quit over the failure to halt fighting in the five-year war.
	The non-governmental organisations wrote in a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon yesterday that the mounting death toll meant their presence at the peace table was "not only meaningless, it is unnecessary."
	Among the 24 signatories were the Syrian Civil Defence, known as the White Helmets, the Syrian Network for Human Rights, the Syrian Women's Network and the UOSSM group supporting hospitals that have come under repeated attack in the country.

Britain does not have "months to meditate" on the next steps following the Brexit vote, European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said today.
	"I have some understanding for the fact that (Prime Minister) David Cameron wants to have some time in order to meditate," Juncker told a news conference after an EU summit.
	"We want Article 50 (of the Lisbon Treaty formally stating Britain's intention to leave) to be triggered as soon as possible... It has to be speeded up. We don't have months to meditate, we have to act."
	Juncker added: "What I don't understand is that those who wanted to leave (the EU) are totally unable to tell us what they want.
	"I thought that if you want to leave you have a plan, you have a project, you have a global picture," he said.

	Scotland also returned a majority to stay, but it wasn't enough to sway the overall British vote to pull out of the 28-member bloc.

Google's free online mapping service is bringing the world into better focus with an updated version of Earth that takes advantage of photos from a US Landsat 8 satellite.
	The Internet giant introduced a "cloud-free mosaic" of this planet three years ago at Google Earth, and on Monday began rolling out a new version that uses new techniques to process sharper images gathered by the satellite sent into orbit in 2013, as part of a collaboration between NASA and the US Geological Survey.
