Leading cement maker UltraTech Cement on Thursday said it has settled with Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) in the ongoing arbitration over the Dalla Super unit and associated mines. In a regulatory filing, UltraTech Cements said it will redeem 1,00,000 Series A Preference Shares of face value Rs 1,00,000 each totalling Rs 1,000 crore. This settlement will also help in monetisation of the assets of JAL in its ongoing Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), in which rival Adani Group has emerged as the successful resolution applicant (bidder). With this, a long-standing dispute between UltraTech and debt-ridden JAL, which is currently going through insolvency resolution, has come to an end. "Subsequent to the Parties reaching a settlement in respect of the arbitration and the Arbitral Tribunal passing a final award today viz. 26th March, 2026, all rights and interests in the Dalla Super unit and mines have fully vested in the company, and all claims/proceeds and liabilities .
Despite the two-day rally, in the past one month, cement companies stocks have underperformed the market by falling up to 17%, as against 8% fall in the BSE Sensex.

UltraTech Cement, India's leading cement maker on Saturday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,729.44 crore for December quarter FY26. It had posted a net profit of Rs 1,363.44 crore in the October-December period a year ago, the Aditya Birla group flagship firm said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations was at Rs 21,829.68 crore in the December quarter of FY26. It was at Rs 17,778.83 crore a year earlier. The company said its results " for the three months and nine months ended 31/12/2025 are not comparable with the previous corresponding period" due to acquisition of India Cements Ltd (ICL), Blrla White WallCare (earlier known as Wonder WallCare) and Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE-based RAKWCT. Moreover, the scheme for the merger of the cement business of Kesoram Industries with UltraTech and their respective shareholders and creditors was also effective from March 1, 2025. UltraTech's total consolidated income, which includes other income as well, was at Rs 21,965.26

UltraTech Cement on Saturday said it has received a GST demand notice for a total payment of Rs 782.2 crore, which it plans to contest before the appropriate forum. "The Company is reviewing the Order, considering all legal options, and accordingly would be contesting the demand," UltraTech Cement said in a regulatory filing. The order has been passed in various matters on account of "alleged short payment of GST, improper utilisation of Input Tax Credit, etc" during the period 2018-19 to 2022-23, the company said. The order is passed "without due consideration of the Company's submissions." The order passed against it is "upholding tax liability of Rs 3,90,95,58,194/- plus applicable interest on tax demand; additional interest Rs 27,68,289/- and penalty of Rs 3,90,95,58,194/", the filing said.
