Business Standard Smart Business in Association with Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) with FMC and Yes Bank organised an interactive session with British Deputy High Commission in Amritsar.
Mr. Gaurav Gupta, Punjab North Head, FIEO started the session with a welcome address. He welcomed all the dignitaries and industry members for the session.
Sh. Ashwani Kumar, Regional Chairman, Northern Region, FIEO said that this session was much needed for the industrialists as they are looking for opportunities due to the global trade competition. He also added that with the guidance of senior officials, they will look for the investment opportunities in UK.
Mr. Andrew Arey, Deputy High Commissioner, British Deputy High Commission, Chandigarh shared why they are looking for investment from India. He added that India-UK trade is increasing day by day and people are asking them to provide them the opportunities to establish their business over there. He also said that the from all the G 20 countries, UK has the lowest Corporate Tax, i.e. 18%, which is also a best option for the members who are looking for the investment opportunities over there.
Mr. Vikram Singh, Strategic Head Investment,British High Commission, New Delhi said that the bilateral trade has increased by 20% between July 2017-July 2018. He said that over 800 Indian companies employ more than 1 lakh people in UK. He also said that UK is among 9th position in the world for ease of doing business. He said that they are providing free and confidential service to their clients and also incentives to the investors.
Mr. AshwaniKumar in his vote of thanks, said that the detailed presentation given by the Embassy officials will be helpful in taking up the opportunities in UK, and such information is much needed to make the industry aware of these opportunities. He also thanked the officers for the indepthinformation they shared.
