Pbks vs MI qualifier 2 live score: Punjab Kings secured their place in the IPL 2025 final with a thrilling 5-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In a high-pressure clash, PBKS chased down a daunting target of over 200, becoming the first team to successfully do so against the five-time champions in IPL history. Leading from the front, skipper Shreyas Iyer delivered a heroic performance, anchoring the innings with a match-winning knock that kept Punjab in the hunt throughout the chase. Iyer’s calm presence and timely boundaries proved pivotal as PBKS crossed the finish line with just a few balls to spare. It was also the suporting from nehal Wadhera that did the trick as he and Iyer kept the team alive through the tough patches of the match. With this remarkable win, Punjab now set up a blockbuster final clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who had earlier qualified after their win in Qualifier 1. The stage is now set for a historic showdown, as PBKS aim for their maiden IPL title while RCB look to end their long wait for glory. Earlier, Mumbai Indians have set a 204-run target for Punjab Kings in their IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium which began after a major rain delay on the night.
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first and with no overs reduced on the night, we have a proper game with ourselves. While Rohit Sharma departed early in the powerplay, it was Bairstow and Tilak Varma that started piling the runs on the board. Bairstow continued to impress with his 38-run knock on the night.
After that it was Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma's 72-run stand that kept the run rate high for MI. Chahal, who returned to the side tonight got the valuable wicket of Surya on 44 as he was caught on deep square.
However, Punjab got back with 2 wickets in 2 overs as Tilak too lost his wicket with 5 overs left. It was Hardik and Naman Dhir in the end that took MI to 180/5 in 18 overs on night. Naman (37) did bat on for Mumbai and got them to 203/6 in their 20 overs as they chase a win, the only option for the 5-time champions this year.
