Counting of votes for first phase underway in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal May 15 (ANI): After a historic turnout in the first phase of elections, the counting of the votes has begun amid tight security. However, there has been a delay at some place while at some places yet to begin. It is expected that few more days will be required for the process to complete owing to the counting at few places moving at snail's pace. In preliminary counting of the votes, the opposition CPN- UML is taking lead ahead of other parties while Nepali Congress is in second and Maoist Center is in third place. Meanwhile, people are eagerly waiting for the results to be declared. 73 percent of the total 49, 56, 925 eligible voters cast their vote in 6,642 polling stations around the 34 districts of 3 provinces of Nepal.
