Tianjin, Aug 13 (ANI): Hospitals in Chinese port city of Tianjin rushed to provide medical aid to injured people early on Thursday (August 13) after two massive explosions ripped through the city, killing at least 17. Around 400 people were injured in the explosions caused by flammable goods which ripped through an industrial area late on Wednesday night. President Xi Jinping demanded that authorities quickly extinguish the fire caused by the blasts and "make full effort to rescue and treat the injured and ensure the safety of people and their property". Tianjin is home to around 15 million people, making it one of the biggest cities in China. It is also home to one of the country's biggest ports. Industrial accidents are not uncommon in China following three decades of breakneck economic growth. A blast at an auto parts factory in eastern China killed 75 people a year ago when a room filled with metal dust exploded.
