Adani's $1.1 bn copper project in Gujarat to start operations from Mar 2024

Billionaire Gautam Adani-led group's copper-producing factory at Mundra in Gujarat will start operations from March next year, helping cut India's dependence on imports and aiding energy transition, sources said. Copper is known as the "metal of electrification" as deeper electrification requires wires, which are primarily made from copper. Technologies critical to the energy transition like electric vehicles (EVs), charging infrastructure, solar photovoltaics (PV), wind and batteries, all require copper. Kutch Copper Ltd (KCL), a subsidiary of the group's flagship Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL), is setting up a greenfield copper refinery project for the production of refined copper with 1 million tonnes per annum in two phases. For Phase-1, capacity of 0.5 million tonnes per annum, KCL has achieved financial closure through a syndicated club loan, sources with direct knowledge of the matter said. Adani Wilmar files complaint against sale of counterfeit Fortune products

Edible oil major Adani Wilmar Ltd on Saturday said it has lodged a police complaint against a B2B platform for allegedly distributing counterfeit products in the name of its 'Fortune' brand. As part of a routine market survey, Adani Wilmar representatives discovered the malpractice. In a statement, the company said it has lodged an FIR through their agency, against the B2B platform for alleged distribution of counterfeit products on the platform. The FIR has been lodged at Badalpur police station in Gautam Budhnagar District, Uttar Pradesh. Adani Wilmar said the law enforcement authorities conducted a raid at the warehouse of B2B (business to business) platform "wherein alarming quantities of counterfeit products bearing the 'Fortune' brand name, the flagship brand of Adani Wilmar were seized." Billionaire Gautam Adani on Friday proposed to set up a green hydrogen plant in Sri Lanka, where his conglomerate is already developing a container terminal and a 500 MW wind project. Oil regulator rejects Adani Total's application for Noida city gas licence

Oil regulator PNGRB has rejected Adani Total Gas Ltd's application for a licence to retail CNG to automobiles and piped gas to household kitchens in Noida, on the outskirts of the national capital, on grounds that it does not meet criteria. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) in an order dated July 14 said Adani Total Gas Ltd does not fulfill the requirements of law and so its application is rejected. Adani has been eyeing a city gas distribution (CGD) licence for cities adjoining the national capital for nearly two decades now. A firm can retail CNG or piped natural gas in a city only if it is authorised by the regulator or had permission from the central government prior to the regulator coming into existence. While Indraprastha Gas Ltd - the joint venture of state-owned firms - had been authorised for the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Adani has challenged IGL's claim for adjoining cities.
