13 US firms on two-day visit to explore Telangana's aerospace ecosystem

As many as 13 USA aerospace companies arrived here on Wednesday for a two-day trade mission to explore Telangana's aerospace ecosystem and meet with potential business partners in the region. A press release from the US Consulate here said the trade mission, which is organised by the US Commercial Service in India, will help participating firms and organisations gain market insights, make industry contacts and solidify business strategies. US aerospace major Boeing on Wednesday pitched its F/A-18 Super Hornet as the best platform to address the Indian Navy's requirement of deck-based jets for aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Top officials of Boeing said the company anticipates USD 3.6 billion in economic impact to the Indian aerospace and defence industry over the next 10 years if F/A-18 Super Hornet Block III is selected. The Navy has shortlisted F/A-18 Super Hornet and Rafale M aircraft produced by the French aerospace major Dassault Aviation for the procurement. Over four years back, the Indian Navy had initiated the process to acquire 57 multi-role combat aircraft for its aircraft carrier. However, the Navy plans to procure 26 aircraft initially. Scindia talks with US aerospace giants on bolstering alliance with India

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia held discussions with American aerospace giants on further strengthening collaboration with the industry in India. Scindia arrived here on Thursday for the first leg of his visit to North America and began his engagements with discussions with New York-based technology-powered, global air mobility platform Blade. On Thursday, he also interacted with members of the Indian diaspora during a session and reception hosted by Consul General of New York Randhir Jaiswal. Airbus inks pact with Tata Strive. AASSC to give training for aviation jobs

European aviation major Airbus on Wednesday signed a pact with Tata STRIVE and the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council to train youths for aviation and aerospace jobs. Under the agreement, Airbus, Tata STRIVE and AASSC, with the support of NSDC and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), will work together to build a pipeline of talent in the aerospace sector, focusing on providing opportunities to the youth, a release said. The Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) is an apex body working towards skill development in aerospace and aviation sector under the aegis of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), while Tata STRIVE is a skill development initiative of Tata Trust.
