Apollo Health expects partner Sanofi to help expand diabetes care business

Apollo Health and Lifestyle, the subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, has said that the the synergy with Sanofi Group in its diabetes care business would help it to grow its presence in India and abroad. The clinical practice model Apollo Sugar Clinics has developed could be expanded across the country and also be scaled up internationally, during when Sanofi's exerience would help it, said Sangita Reddy, joint managing director of AHEL. "As we look to scale and possibly scale internationally with this model, which we believe that it is better most of the models available in the market, I think Sanofi is a very good partner," told Reddy in an interaction with analysts.The company was looking for a partner who had deep understanding of diabetes and Sanofi is one of the leading companies with a large insulin portfolio and with a lot of fundamental research they do in the diabetes space. Apollo Health and Lifestyle to invest Rs 500 cr in expansion

Hyderabad, 21 MarchApollo Health and Lifestyle (AHLL) will invest Rs 500 crore in the next five years to expand its core businesses across the country. It is creating innovative models of clinics to provide primary healthcare in alternative ways by using telemedicine and medical services on mobile app under customised treatment platforms.The subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has five primary care formats - Apollo Clinics, Apollo Sugar, Apollo Diagnostics, Apollo White and Apollo Dialysis. It has rapid expansion plans to increase the number of multi-speciality clinics and diabetes clinics to 150 each in the coming three years from the current 72 and 42 respectively.According to AHLL chief executive officer Neeraj Garg, the company may invest Rs 2-2.5 crore to set up a multi-speciality clinic, and Rs 1.5-2 crore for a standalone diabetes clinic in leased premises.
