Centre must enact Right to Health law, says Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said a Right to Health law should be enacted by the central government, citing the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance scheme of his government to provide affordable healthcare to citizens. "The country should have a Right to Health law. Just like the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre brought the Right to Education Act, a law should be enacted by the central government now," Gehlot said at a press conference in Alwar during the morning break of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Referring to the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance scheme of his government under which health insurance of Rs 10 lakh is given, Gehlot said that this scheme should be implemented across the country. Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra resumes from Rajasthan's Dausa after break

The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from here on Sunday after a day's break with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and senior leader Sachin Pilot walking alongside the former Congress chief. The yatra resumed from Kalakho here around 8 AM. Several people lined up since early morning to greet the yatra. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Gandhi will address a rally in Alwar on Monday. Brushing aside the criticism of the revival of the old pension scheme (OPS) for Rajasthan government employees, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said India witnessed development even when the OPS was in place.
