Audi India retail sales up 29% to 2,947 units during Jan-Sept period

German luxury carmaker Audi on Friday reported a 29 per cent growth in retail sales at 2,947 units in the January-September period of this year in India. Audi India had retailed 2,291 units in the same period last year. The growth was driven by the new A8 and Q7, coupled with continued demand for the e-tron range, A4, A6, Q5 and the RS performance range, the company said in a statement. In addition, Audi Approved: plus, the company's pre-owned car business, has grown by 73 per cent in the first nine months of 2022, it added. "Our performance in the first nine months has laid the foundation for a positive performance in the remainder of the year. "Robust growth, despite the semiconductor shortage and global supply-chain issues reiterates the customers' enthusiasm around the brand and our wide product portfolio," Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon said. German manufacturer Audi will enter Formula One in 2026 in line with new engine regulations, chairman Markus Duesmann said on Friday. Audi will manufacture its own power unit in an era when there will be a greater emphasis on sustainable fuels and an increased electrical component in engines. From 2026, the electric power output for the power units, consisting of an electric motor, battery, control electronics, and a combustion engine, will increase. The electric motor will then be nearly as powerful as the combustion engine and the highly efficient 1.6-liter turbo engines will run on advanced sustainable fuel which Audi says was a prerequisite for entry into the series. Audi to hike prices by up to 2.4% next month as supply chain costs rise

German luxury carmaker Audi on Tuesday said it will increase prices of its entire model range by up to 2.4 per cent next month. The price hike is a result of rising input and supply chain costs and will come into effect from September 20, 2022, the automaker said in a statement. With rising input and supply chain costs, we are required to take a price hike of up to 2.4 per cent across our model range," Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon said. Audi India sells petrol models A4, A6, A8 L, Q5, Q7, Q8, S5 Sportback, RS 5 Sportback and RS Q8. The electric vehicle portfolio under the e-tron brand comprises the e-tron 50, e-tron 55, e-tron Sportback 55, e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. The company recently opened online bookings for Q3 in India.
