To retain employees and bring them back to office, many companies are resorting to 'Office Peacocking', which involves creating a swanky or fancy work space, and spending huge amounts of their budget on attractive designs, says industry experts. The 'Office Peacocking' concept gained significant traction in India post-Covid, as companies sought to entice employees back to the office following the remote work shift induced by the pandemic in order to compete with the comfort of home offices, human resource service provider TeamLease Services CEO-Staffing Kartik Narayan told PTI. Peacocking involves redesigning office spaces with stylish decor, trendy furniture, cosy corners, natural light, and well-stocked pantries to create an inviting and vibrant work environment. The goal is to make the office more attractive and enjoyable for employees, enhancing their willingness to return to in-person work. Godrej Properties buys land in Bengaluru for high-end residential project

Realty firm Godrej Properties on Monday said it has acquired a 7-acre land in Bengaluru to develop a luxury housing project with an estimated revenue of Rs 1,200 crore. In a regulatory filing, the company informed about the acquisition of around 7 acres of land in Thanisandra, North Bengaluru on an outright basis. The development on this land will comprise a high-end residential project featuring premium residential apartments of various configurations. The proposed project is estimated to have a developable potential of about 9 lakh square feet with a revenue potential of around Rs 1,200 crore, the company said. Brigade Enterprises eyes Rs 1,100 cr revenue from housing project in B'luru

Realty firm Brigade Enterprises on Thursday said it has launched a new housing project with a revenue potential of Rs 1,100 crore. The project 'Brigade Insignia' is located at Yelahanka, Bengaluru, and comprises 379 units. "The project has a revenue potential of Rs 1,100 crore," the company said in a statement. Pavitra Shankar, Managing Director of Brigade Enterprises Ltd, said, "Demand for residential projects is currently high, and the segment is witnessing steady growth. This project is set to ride on that demand and is part of our 11 million square feet expansion plan in the residential space and will be ideal, both as an investment and for ownership." Apartments at Brigade Insignia are available at a ticket size ranging from Rs 3 crore to Rs 9 crore. The project is expected to be completed in June 2029. Sobha Ltd to launch rights issue on Friday to raise up to Rs 2,000 cr

Realty firm Sobha Ltd will launch its rights issue on Friday to raise up to Rs 2,000 crore mainly to reduce debt, purchase land as well as machines and meet the construction cost of its various projects. The issue will close on July 4. On June 12, the Board approved the terms of the rights issue. The Bengaluru-based company would issue 1,21,07,981 equity shares each on partly-paid basis for an amount up to Rs 2,000 crore. The price fixed for rights issue is Rs 1,651 per share (including premium of Rs 1,641 per share). The rights entitlement ratio has been fixed at 6 rights equity shares for every 47 fully paid-up equity share of the company held by the eligible equity shareholders of the company, as on the record date. On the objects of the issue, the company has proposed to utilise Rs 905 crore for repayment or prepayment, in full or in part, of certain borrowings. Concorde acquires 1.6 acre land in Bengaluru for Rs 200 cr housing project

Realty firm Concorde on Thursday said it has acquired a 1.6-acre land parcel in Bengaluru to develop a housing project with a revenue potential of Rs 200 crore. "Set to be a premium high rise residential complex, this joint development will have a gross development value (GDV) of Rs 200 crore," the company said in a statement. The proposed project, located on Sarjapur road, will have a developable area of around 2.25 lakh square feet. "This acquisition reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative and high-quality living spaces that meet the evolving needs of modern homebuyers in strategic locations," Nesara B S, Chairman at Concorde, said. To expand business amid strong consumer demand, real estate developers are buying land outright and are also forming partnerships with landowners to develop projects. Concorde is one of the leading real estate firms in the country.

B'luru court remands ex-MP Prajwal Revanna to judicial custody till Jun 24

A special court here on Tuesday remanded former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of rape and sexual abuse, to judicial custody till June 24. The 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court had on June 12 remanded him to the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the cases against him, till June 18. The 33-year-old had failed in his bid to retain the Hassan parliamentary constituency in the recent polls. SIT officials arrested Revanna soon after he landed at Bengaluru airport from Germany on May 31. He had left for Germany on April 27, a day after Hassan went to the polls. A 'Blue Corner Notice' seeking information on his whereabouts had earlier been issued by the Interpol, following a request by the SIT via the Central Bureau of Investigation. B'luru court sends rape-accused Prajwal Revanna to 14-day judicial custody

A court here on Monday sent former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of rape and sexual abuse against several women, to 14 days judicial custody. He was produced before the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court as his Special Investigation Team (SIT) custody ended today. The court on May 31 remanded him to SIT custody till June 6, and later extended it till June 10. While in their custody, the SIT conducted a detailed investigation, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, and questioned Revanna extensively about the allegations. The court, taking into consideration the gravity of the allegations and the evidence presented by the SIT, decided to remand him to judicial custody for 14 days, till June 24.
