Aircraft carrying Sonia, Rahul makes emergency landing at Bhopal: Police

An aircraft with Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on board made an emergency landing at Bhopal airport on Tuesday evening, a police officer said. The plane made an emergency landing at the Bhopal airport, Bhopal police commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra told PTI. However, details like the reason behind the emergency landing of the aircraft and destination are not available. Mishra said the aircraft is likely to take off for onward journey at around 9.30 PM. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul attended the meeting of opposition parties in Bengaluru a few hours back. We are on the way to the airport after getting information about the emergency landing, senior Congress leader Shoba Oza said.

PM Modi flags off 5 Vande Bharat trains from MP's Rani Kamalapati station

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal and flagged off five Vande Bharat trains connecting important cities in different parts of the country. Modi reached Rani Kamalapati railway station in Bhopal from where he flagged off the five trains - two physically and three in virtual mode. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Jyotiraditya Scindia, among others, were present on the occasion. "These trains will improve connectivity in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Bihar and Jharkhand," Modi said in a tweet on Monday. PM Narendra Modi to lead road show in Bhopal on June 27: BJP leader

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a road show in Bhopal during his visit to Madhya Pradesh on June 27, a BJP leader said on Saturday. It will be the first visit of the prime minister after returning from the "historic" US tour, he said. During his visit, Modi will virtually address BJP leaders and workers across 10 lakh booths in the country from Bhopal and will attend the concluding ceremony of the Veerangana Durgawati Yatra in Shahdol. Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express breaches speed limit of 160 kmph

The maximum speed of the Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express reached 161 kilometres per hour during its launch run on Saturday, breaching its expected speed limit of 160 kmph, officials said. The train that cuts the travel time between Bhopal and New Delhi by an hour, touched the speed of 161 kmph between Raja ki Mandi in Agra and Mathura, they added.
