Quilt India Foundation Announces Events at India's First Quilt Festival

Castor seed future prices rise 0.93 pc

Castor seed prices rose by Rs 52 to Rs 5,620 per quintal in futures trade Monday after investors widened their bets amid firm trend. Marketmen said besides rising demand from consuming industries, short position of stocks in the spot markets led to the rise in castor seed futures. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castor seed for January was trading higher by Rs 52, or 0.93 per cent, at Rs 5,620 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,42,515 lots. Castor seed for February rose by Rs 56, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 5,686 per quintal, with an open interest of 23,870 lots.

China and the US are currently engaged in a trade conflict and have slapped tit-for-tat tariffs of hundreds of billions of dollars on each other's goods.
