Lucideus raises $5 mn in funding led by John Chambers

Indian cyber security firm Lucideus Monday said it has raised USD 5 million (over Rs 36 crore) in funding, led by Cisco Chairman Emeritus John Chambers. The funds will be used to expand "with razor sharp focus" its presence in the US as well as existing markets like India, Lucideus CEO and co-founder Saket Modi told PTI. He added that the company has seen its revenues growing in triple digits year-on-year and has been cash flow positive for the last few years. Lucideus had raised funding in May last year from a clutch of global executives like Google's Rajan Anandan, Facebook Messenger executive Anand Chandrasekaran and FreeCharge's ex-CEO Govind Rajan. "The funds are being used to further strengthen our platform to provide more robust security to our enterprise customers that span across banking and financial services, retail and others," he said. BookMyShow net loss widens to Rs 140.25 cr for FY18

Bigtree Entertainment, which owns and operates online ticketing platform BookMyShow, reported a wider net loss of Rs 140.25 crore for the fiscal ended March 2018, according to regulatory documents. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 128.4 crore in the previous fiscal, according to the documents filed with the Corporate Affairs Ministry and sourced by business intelligence platform Tofler. Revenue from operations, on the other hand, increased 28.8 per cent to Rs 386.07 crore in FY2017-18 from Rs 299.57 crore in FY2016-17. Employee benefit expenses during 2017-18 increased to Rs 119.36 crore from Rs 75.45 crore in the previous fiscal. Dr Reddy's shares gain over 5%; m-cap rises by Rs 2,158 cr post Q2 earnings

Shares of Dr Reddy's Laboratories Monday surged over 5 per cent after the company reported a 76.83 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2018. The stock gained 5.44 per cent to close at Rs 2,534.75 on BSE. During the day, it jumped 6.43 per cent to Rs 2,558.55. On NSE, shares of the company soared 5.28 per cent to end at Rs 2,531.65. Led by the gain in the stock price, the company's market valuation rose by Rs 2,157.95 crore to Rs 42,072.95 crore on BSE. In terms of equity volume, 1.80 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 10 lakh shares changed hands on NSE during the day. Century Textiles Q2 net profit jumps 3-fold to Rs 156 crore

Century Textiles & Industries (CTIL) today reported nearly three-fold jump in its standalone net profit of Rs 156.52 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company, which has received shareholder's nod to to sell its cement assets to Ultratech on October 24, had posted a net profit of Rs 52.78 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, CTIL said in a BSE filing. Its net sales stood at Rs 1,949.77 crore, up 8.83 per cent, during the quarter under review as against Rs 1,791.53 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal. "Profit before Interest, Depreciation and Tax jumped 40 per cent to Rs 393.44 crore vis-a-vis Rs 280.84 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year," the company said in a statement. Century Textiles total expenses rose 8.35 per cent to Rs 1,879.42 crore, compared to Rs 1,734.53 crore. Tata Power to raise up to Rs 5,500 crore via NCDs

Tata Power Monday said its Board has approved plan to raise up to Rs 5,500 crore through issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis. "The board has approved issuance in one or more tranches, of non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable, listed, rated securities in the form of non-convertible debentures up to an aggregate amount not exceeding Rs 5,500 crore on private placement basis," Tata Power said in a BSE filing. Shares of Tata Power settled 12.40 per cent higher at Rs 77.50 apiece on BSE.
