Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 7.99%, NIFTY climbs 2.20%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 7.99% at 2778.4 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Oriental Bank of Commerce jumped 13.12%, Union Bank of India gained 12.15% and Canara Bank rose 12.07%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 27.00% over last one year compared to the 0.70% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index increased 5.21% and Nifty Infrastructure index added 3.37% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 2.20% to close at 10250.85 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 2.15% to close at 34067.4 today.
