TDP leader confirms two ministerial posts, other allies to also join govt

Telugu Desam Party leader Ram Mohan Naidu will be sworn in as a Cabinet minister and another party MP Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani as a minister of state in the Modi 3.0 government, a party leader confirmed. TDP leader and industrialist Jayadev Galla posted congratulatory messages to the two leaders amid indications that other allies such as Ram Nath Thakur and Lalan Singh of the JD(U), Chirag Paswan of the LJP (R), Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAM(S), Jayant Chaudhary of the RLD are being considered as ministers. An aide of Manjhi claimed that he has been informed that he will be inducted in the government. Sources have said that allies will get representation in the government in which the BJP is expected to keep key portfolios like home, defence, finance and external affairs. BJP bigwigs like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal and Jyotiraditya Scindia are being seen as natural choices for Cabinet berths besides S Jaishankar. PM Modi to attend Naidu's swearing-in ceremony as Andhra CM on June 12

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of N Chandrababu Naidu as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 12, an official said on Saturday. Modi is set to be sworn-in as prime minister at ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday evening. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi, state Governor (S Abdul Nazeer) and other eminent people are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony (of Naidu)," Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad said in a statement. Naidu is scheduled to take oath at 11:27 am on Wednesday at the Kesarapalli IT Park near the Gannavaram airport. The chief secretary reviewed the arrangements being made for the ceremony and directed officials to make foolproof preparations. Several VVIPs are expected to arrive at the Gannavaram airport. Senior IAS officer PS Padhyumna has been appointed as the state coordinator for the swearing-in ceremony.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu to be sworn in as Andhra Pradesh CM on June 12

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the third time on June 12, party sources said on Friday. Naidu will take oath of office at Kesarapalli IT Park near the Gannavaram airport. "At 11:27 am on June 12 (Wednesday), Chandrababu Naidu will be sworn in as the Chief Minister at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram airport," the sources told PTI. Naidu first became the CM nearly 30 years ago in 1995 and went on to rule till 2004 to be replaced by late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. After a decade and the bifurcation of the united state into Telangana and residual Andhra Pradesh, Naidu had emerged as the first CM of the newly carved out state in 2014. However, he lost the elections in 2019 with the chief minister's mantle taken over by YSRCP supremo Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He will become the chief minister again after a gap of five years.
