In a fatal accident on Saturday morning, 19 people have lost their lives and seven have been injured after a cement-laden truck in which they were travelling turned turtle on Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway, near Bavalyali village in Bhavnagar.Reportedly, after the truck turned turtle, it had fallen into a ditch.The injured passengers have been shifted to a government hospital in Bavayali village and the bodies of the deceased will be sent for an autopsy shortly.The driver fled the spot after the accident occured.More details are awaited.

Five members of a family were killed after the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in crashed into another car on the Solapur-Pune road this evening. The accident took place at Dalas village near Bhigwan when the family was returning to Pune after visiting the famous Tuljapur temple, police said. The driver of the SUV lost the control when a tyre burst, and the vehicle jumped the divider and collided with a car coming from the opposite direction before turning turtle. Bhigwan police identified the deceased as Sandeep Prakash Gaikwad (35), his wife Sheetal (32), son Abhiraj (5), father Prakash (67) and mother Sunita (58), all residents of Yamunagar area of Nigdi near Pune. Drought can be defeated if villagers come together to conserve water, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said while inspecting works done here by the Paani Foundation, an NGO started by actor Aamir Khan.
